Bonjour! Or should I say "Buongiorno"?  Maybe I should learn to speak Yiddish or Hebrew since I recently found out that I have an Ashkenazi, Sephardic, and Mizrahi Jewish heritage in my ancestry. Who knew?? Certainly not my parents or grandparents! Surprise! All my life, I thought I was Canadian French (Paternal), and Sicilian Italian (Maternal) but, lo and behold, I am so much more!

So now, I am on a quest. I am searching for my Jewish ancestors from Iberia, Eastern and Western Europe, the Baltic region, and of course, the Middle East. I truly believe that their story is OUR story, too. Without our beloved ancestors, there would be no precious family today. I believe that family, including our ancestors, consists of our people who have shared deep, abiding love stories that come together through the ages. They converge, over time, to become one, very large family. When they pass, they leave behind that legacy of love so that we may pass it on to others who come after us. Thus, we are part of their story and they are part of ours.
